SAVE UP TO $30: The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K(opens in a new tab), Fire TV Stick 4K Max(opens in a new tab), and Fire TV Cube(opens in a new tab) are on sale for up to 55% off (Prime members only!) ahead of the retailer’s annual Prime Day sale.
With less than a week left until the start of its annual Prime Day sale (scheduled for July 11 and 12), Amazon is really starting to ramp up its preview deals on tech from its own brands. As of July 5, a trio of Amazon Fire TV devices with 4K capabilities are sitting at or close to record-low prices — that includes the Fire TV Stick 4K(opens in a new tab) (now $22.99) the Fire TV Stick 4K Max(opens in a new tab) (now $24.99), and the third-generation Fire TV Cube(opens in a new tab) (now $109.99). We’d be shocked if any of them get cheaper once Prime Day officially kicks off, especially the two Fire Sticks.
A quick note that all three deals are exclusive to Prime members, so make sure to sign up(opens in a new tab) (or sign in) before you shop. There’s a chance other stores like Best Buy and Target will match them come next week, as they’ve done during past Prime Days, but no promises:
Our top pick
Why we like it
The latest version of Amazon’s entry-level 4K media player supports 4K Ultra HD streaming with HDR, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision, and it comes with a nice Alexa Voice Remote that lets you control compatible smart home devices(opens in a new tab) hands-free. It’s nothing particularly game-changing, but according to PCMag(opens in a new tab) (which is owned by Mashable’s publisher, Ziff Davis), it’s “nearly flawless” for what it offers and “simply the best media hub you can find for under $50.” Right now, Prime members pay less than half that: At $22.99, it’s $2 cheaper than its previous all-time low from the past two Black Fridays(opens in a new tab).
Best for WiFi 6 support
Why we like it
The Fire TV Stick 4K Max upgrades the base version with 40 percent more processing power, including faster app starts and improved navigation, plus WiFi 6 support. (You can probably stick with the non-Max model if your router isn’t up to speed just yet, FYI.) It’s an incredible value at just $24.99 ahead of Prime Day, which beats its former record-low(opens in a new tab) by $10.

Why we like it
An October 2022 release, Amazon’s third-generation Fire TV Cube for 4K streaming with HDR, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos has a built-in Alexa assistant that supports hands-free voice control — no need for a separate remote. It also includes an “industry-first(opens in a new tab)” HDMI input port for connecting (and adding Alexa) to other entertainment devices like cable boxes and Blu-Ray players. Other highlights include WiFi 6E support and an octa-core 2.0 GHz processor that makes it 20 percent faster than its predecessor and twice as powerful as the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. Its current price of $109.99 is its best deal(opens in a new tab) since it was up for preorder for $99.99 last fall.
